Since the desktop widget development system consists of so many functions and features and even lets users write custom script code, is it possible to develop a flashcard widget with a spaced repetition (like in the anki or brainscape apps)? This will be very useful for several flashcard users as it reminds them of the data they try to learn every time they go to their desktop. This will help anybody trying to lean a new language, vocabulary, quizzes, or anything that they can learn through flashcards.

what information should be shown in flashcard?
when will new information appear?by clicking a button or auto fresh every 5 minutes?

PS: you should have a txt file which includes all the information you want.

I am thinking of a system that recognizes information from the excel files stored in a particular directory(which will be defined by the script).
New info will be shown when a button is pressed, and also auto changes if no button is pressed for 10 minutes or so.
Another good idea will be to give the user a choice of selecting when the new info appears.

you can see the examples of software like anki or brainscape to understand my intention. but instead of being an app that has to be launched separately like them this widget floats on the desktop, shows you some useful info whenever you go to your desktop and hence can improve the learning process of flashcard users.

dude this is awesome.. I didnt think this would be solved in such a short time...
but when the question word is long, the text is not fully displayed(i uploaded a screenshot). is there a way to correct this? (may be by setting the font size to automatically adjust based on the length of the text?)

change font size or change component text1's size.

thanks... is it possible to make them srs flashcards (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaced_repetition) like anki or brainscape where you give a card a rating to go to next card instead of clicking the next button? i mean the next button is replaced by 5 or so rating buttons, and cards are repeated based on the rating given to them. please see the wiki artice in the link, and the brainscape webapp to get an idea.

it's possible, but it will take more time to write code.
