I am not able to get out what the default page is good for. I thought that it could be related to which page the "send to launchpad"-desktop-command sends the shortcut but it sends the shortcut to the last page opened in launchpad rather than default page

If you set the second page as default Page, then when you restart XLaunchpad, will default display the second page
