Hi all!, long time no see! i wanna make a widget that downloads a url to a folder every 3 hours (creating some sort of cache) and then parse the .html to display data in an other widget, although i dont know how to accomplish this with XW, can someone point me to an example or share the code here for these actions?

So what i need is two things:
1- Download url to a folder every XXX time.
2- Parse .html file & display result data from widget.

thank you guys!

You can use the Webpraser core with RegExp to get the values directly from the webpage, no need to download, the values are assigned to StringIndex1 tags that can be used how ever you like, text, chart or in code. Reading this WebParser tutorial helped me get mine working, even the auto login, just pick out what is relevant to xwidget http://docs.rainmeter.net/tips/webparser-tutorial
Note: do not put the RegExp inside quotation marks xwidget does it for you.

hi meme, thanks a lot! :)
although i would appreciate help on downloading urls, many times i find myself editing a skin and xwidget freezes, so i reset it , and again and again, some sites dont like that lol, so they block me out for a day, Solution 1: close all the skins with rss feeds, currently 6. Solution 2: create a "downloader" skin that downloads all the needed urls and creates a cache folder from where the readers get their data, and when testing just close that one.
