Hello,

a view weeks ago i came across xwidget and i love them.

Now i was wondering... a friend of mine has a raspberry pi and he programmed it for home automation and is working fine, but i was wondering is there a way to make an interface that can read out tempertures and settings that that raspberry pi is recieving and setting?

Of course there is... if you're willing to go throught the "hard" way.
You need to connect the PI to a network!

1) Get apache httpd or some webserver running on the raspberry pi
2) Write up a script and that reads out temperature (or whatever data) and outputs it.
3) Set up CGI or similar binding and host the pi on a network.
4) Using webparser core and parse the data from the location and display it. Simple.

I don't have an idea of what program you're using to pull of temperatures and if they provide an way...
So I cannot offer much help regarding the CGI script.
Writing an interface is easy in XWidget or you can even use HTML (that's another topic).

I would love to know how you got that pi in this config.

Hello digigamer,

thanks for your answer.

het got some sensors for messering temperture and he has soms switches so he can open and close waterflow for the heating.
most of the programming is done in domoticz and python

now we are using the layout and switches shown on the following page:
