Hi all, im new in the forum and im very exited about xwidget and its capabilities


I have a couple issues i need a bit of help with, see, i been trying to stream news directly into a skin using an htmlpanel with a little bit of success

- This address works usually the first time i run the skin, afterwards it says "Error loading player: Culd not load player configuration"

- This one works, but it doesn't auto adjust its size to the htmlpanel size, so if create a 400 x 600 htmlpanel to run it gets trimmed by the panel edges.

is there an easier way to do this? to stream video into a widget?

Also it's known that there is no "auto adjust its size to the htmlpanel size", and the right click->resize option doesn't follow the html panel. Generally the htmlpanel is a "particular" function that has less options than other components in the Designer and a bit difficult to use or create something really functional..
I'm afraid that you can't do a lot with it.. If you put a working/valid url though works ok.

O wow you answered within the hour i posted the question, thanks so much! i don't know why i was waiting to be alerted if someone posted an answer in my Hotmail, i guess i should have check the forum earlier

Jimking, this is the thing, i been using rainmeter for the pass 3 years, about a year ago came across Xwidget i immediatly recognized its potential, but there was so little material about it available i figured learning it would become a lonely long trial & error process so i passed and stay with what i knew..
Now i see there are manuals and "how to" some YouTube videos which i undoubtedly prefer, so im ready to transition to XWidget

BUT: YouTube video tutorials are extremely basic and very repetitive, i mean there are like 10 videos on how to make pink clocks, none on how to use the SizeGrip component...i know it must be really easy, ive tried duplicating the configuration from other skins but mine doesn't work properly, so im missing something for sure.

I found a Chinese forum (http://bbs.ku-yu.com) and found some excellent tutorials & video tutorials of which i was unable to watch any cause YouKu takes for ever to load anything..i suspect must be because the Chinese server gives priority to Chinese IP requests.

and the - Google translated - web tutorials are incomprehensible

Anyways, do you know where can i find good XWidget tutorials?

Pesonally I think the best tutorial is to edit widgets and study from "inside" how the things work. I did this way! Start from simple designs and after you understand the modes and the versions options you will be able To make some great widgets! Just needs a little practice..
