I just ran the main installer and the program version doesn't seem to have changed. I assume Tony is making changes but not updating the program version numbers.

These should read 1.9.6.nn.

Rather than release buggy versions to the world why do we not release a test version? That would give us a while to sort and report the issues before release to the world.

I used the installer and the version number is the right one!

Right click on the xwidget.exe in explorer and see the reported product version number. This is populated by the C compiler at compile time and should be revised otherwise it reports incorrect version numbers that do not tally with "about" information.

These should all tally.

I don't run an updated program until I have checked the reported version numbers using Windows explorer. The same for all Windows programs.

Just the same as we do for our widgets, widget.xul contains the specific widget version number that we update to ensure users know which version they are running.
